The Green Peafowl is the wilder, more endangered cousin of the familiar Indian Peacock. Native to Southeast Asia, it is listed as Endangered due to habitat loss and hunting. Unlike the Indian Peafowl, both males and females of the Green Peafowl have iridescent green and gold plumage, making them one of the most striking birds in the world. Males can reach over 9 feet in total length including their spectacular train of feathers.
