This piece is a portrait of a sleepy Great Horned Owl (Bubo virginianus) set against Frank Lloyd Wright's iconic Tree of Life stained glass window, a collision of the natural world and American design genius. The Great Horned Owl is one of the most powerful and adaptable raptors in the Americas, capable of taking prey as large as ospreys and great blue herons. Wright's Tree of Life window, designed in 1904 for the Darwin D. Martin House, is a masterwork of organic geometry, its branching forms a perfect echo of the owl's woodland home. Together, they make for a deeply American image: wild nature and visionary art, side by side.

This piece was painted using high-quality oil paints on MDF board, a smooth and durable surface. A handmade solid wood 2" frame is included. Including the frame, the piece is 20" x 28". A certificate of authenticity is included.
